  • 8 undergraduate researchers and 1 master student were trained by the PIs under the support of this DMREF project on different aspects of experimentations, FEM modeling and image processing with numerical software and FEM tools such as DREAM 3D, ABAQUS, and Matlab.

  • The Co-PI Huang served as a mentor for Society of Women Engineers and Women at Rensselaer Mentor Program to help female students transition into college and stay motivated during online instructions because of the pandemic.

  • Huang also attended a workshop organized by Coe College to promote undergraduate research and collaborations between R1 research universities and primarily undergraduate institutions (PUIs).

The United Nations declared the year 2022 as the International Year of Glass to celebrate the heritage and importance of this material to humanity.
