The Information Skunkworks

Mar 21, 2023

The “Informatics Skunkworks” is an undergraduate group dedicated to realizing the potential of informatics for science and engineering.

The DMREF has inspired a project on machine learning for glass forming ability.

Undergraduate Vanessa Nilsen has worked with graduate students and other collaborators to develop models for critical properties of relevance for glass forming metals. Work supported a lab exercise in a computational materials course, an MRS fall meeting posters, and a paper in preparation. Vanessa will start graduate school in MS&E at Colorado School of Mines in the Fall of 2019.
