Methods for 3D Microstructure Studies Workshop

The broader impact of the workshop was the transmission of skills and tools developed as part of this project to dozens of other scientists in the US and abroad.

The three-day workshop was held on the 19th through 21th of Aug. 2019, on Carnegie Mellon’s campus.  In addition to presentations about state of the art 3D materials research, the workshop emphasized tutorials illustrating the capabilities and uses of Dream.3D and practical sessions in which participants applied the tools to their own data.  There were 46 participants who were a mix of students and professionals.  The professionals who attended were from industry and government labs.  Graduate students and post docs who attended came from the United States and South Korea.
